I mean cool, but we already use gold for beacons, tools, and armor plus it has an ingot and a nugget form and can be made into a block. That and it is use to make Gapples and Enchanted apples plus golden carrots how much more do we need???????

You're right, except for the fact that you aren't comparing it to anything. Iron - used in more than 30 crafting recipes. So if you think about it, Gold is highly underused. Its  that it isn't available in many useful crafting recipes, like,  why would you want Gold tools?

Nobody uses golden tools at all, not to mention all the memes making fun of golden tools, gold is often brushed past in caves when mining for iron, coal, or diamonds, so making at least a few new crafting recipes and uses for gold would be good, perhaps an entire update for gold would be too much, but like I said, more crafting recipes and uses would make a use to collect gold more often in caves.

How about adding a gold leaf recipe? When this material is crafted into other blocks it puts gold color in the contours of the block. This would make for an interesting cobblestone block. Stairs would have the edges bordered in gold.
