Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Floating mats

We should be able to craft 9 lily pads into a floating mat, which can't be broken by hand. They would be great for beetroot/potato/carrot/wheat farms, and could be pathways along bodies of water. They could be broken with shears whenever they need to be removed. This would also prevent the headache of using a lily pad and breaking it so often when using it for the farms mentioned above.

    I totally agree that this would be a cool implementation (and also a great use lily pads in crafting something useful).
