Fortune Enchantment with gold/iron ore

Fortune does not do anything to iron and gold ore and I thought of how to make it so it does.
When destroying iron/gold ore with a fortune pickaxe, you would get a "fortuned" version of the ore. When you smelt fortuned ore you would get 1-4/5 (idk the max from fortune 3, but I think it's 4) from the ore. This could also be with wood too and would make Fortune a more useful enchantment. Iron is one of the most useful items in the game and this could make it easier to make loads of rails, hoppers, or any other iron item. When will custom superflats be in bedrock as well?
