Armour Mixing

It would be nice if we could have armour mixing, for example, a leather chest plate with an iron bit in the middle and you would have a bit more defence, another example, you would have leather pants with iron shin pads. you could also have an iron with bits of diamond, you get my point and it would be nice if the what I should think it could be called "armour add-ons" would cost less than the actual armour piece so it would be worth it. anyway, that's my idea.
