More use for gold

I think that gold should be used as an enchanting item Like lapis lazuli except that if you use gold instead of lapis it gives you better enchantments why? Because gold already barely has any uses and it would make sense because gold armour and tools are already better for enchanting so why not make the gold bar hav the same effect

    If I understand correctly, then you're saying that you should get better enchantments if you use gold instead of lapis. But that would make lapis useless.
