So if you have a minigame where you have to jump across platforms to, say open a door to a safe; nasty players with blocks can just build across to get to your jewels. And YES I know that Adventure Mode solves this problem, but that means ALL players are stuck in that mode I'm pretty sure. Not very good. Thus I introduce the idea of a block that restricts certain things from happening in a room. They could be:
-No mob spawning
-No mob damage
- No damage from mobs
- No building
-No breaking
-No building or breaking
Etc.
The blocks power will only be set to that room. And if you want the range to extend to say a house with multiple floors, you just place another one in each room and set them to the same restrictions or use the pick block control that picks the ID of that exact block (I forgot what it's called, so I'll say Pick Block ID control). Also, If it's used in something like a maze where you want the whole maze restricted, you just set a block down somewhere and place a block like a repeater that blocks where the signal can go. So you'd only need 4 repeater type blocks in each corner of the maze to limit the signal to that space. The restrictor block will notice them and keep it in the area(but only if the restrictor is set to a certain mode that does not let it get past empty space in the block, initially creating a sort of an Invisible border in the gaps where the restrictions aren't). The block can be crafted in survival and creative, in case players don't have cheats
