'Friends' Tab in Java Edition

It's about time we get an option in Java Edition to be able to play with other people on Java Edition. It's so complicated having to download a server, setting it up, downloading a JDK, buying a domain. We NEED a Friends tab, and we need it soon.

    You make a good point about the JDK. Using Minecraft's built-in java is fairly safe, but having a full Java installation on your system is a security risk. Sadly for a lot of us, it's still necessary.

    please this will make things so much easier so we can play with friends on everything as well as having friends on seperate servers is such a hassle why not just make it so you have them as a friend on all servers

    This should be in the launcher, they could even use it to make easier to play with friends

    i agree with you man we need a friends list or a friends tab in java like i wanna make friends on the game man ;-; i mean bedrock edition as it where you can make friends so why not java have it as well?

    We need a freinds tab so I can play with friends more easily, I hope with this new Minecraft account migration they will add one, I am staying very hopeful

    This is apparently a feature that was on Mojang's road map, but didn't get around to doing it.
    So this feature is more of a delayed feature then a new feature.
