Fireflies

Fireflies would actually be a really good addition. Maybe you could craft firefly lanterns, or kill them to get glowstone dust.
Either way, would be a very nice ambient mob for night time.

    I can’t believe they’re now scrapping them, after literally planning for them to be an ambience mob and probably a much better looking one than bats and polar bears and pandas. Just because a frog can’t eat them. Yet a frog can eat magma apparently.

    What if fireflies were glowing particles that surrounded a new water surface plant similar to the spore blossom that appear at night. But the plant would also be a new accessible light source obtainable with sheers. It could be found in both swamp types and it would make both of the biomes feel more unique, adding an awesome atmosphere to the area.

    maybe use a bottle on them and you get something similar to dragons breath

    you could them throw the bottle to release the fireflies

    they could act as a particle effect that moves around whatever block they hit

    and the bottle could be placed on the  ground as a new lightsource.

    maybe even make a recipe using fireflies.

    Fireflies would be good-even if they are bad for frogs they can just be poisonous or that the frogs can’t eat them

    Yes! I was so sad when we didn't get fireflies. Would love to have them, even if they were just a particle that occurred in mangrove swamps.

    it's not necessary for frogs to eat them, you can make them just for the atmosphere, it's a pity that they don't want to add them

    This would be a fantastic way to make glowstone renewable, albeit still hard to obtain.

    Well, I'm pretty sure most of you will want to add fireflies in the next update because it's handy to light the way when it's too dark in the woods.

    Since Mojang doesnt want to add them because they are poisonous to frogs, why don't they just not make the frogs eat them? And then all the Problems would be solved....
