A new set of tools specifically made from sticks and nether bricks. i imagine their durablity and mining speed to be that of the stone tools however these tools have a little gimmick where they can become supercharged.
You charge them up by hitting a fire/ lava block and that will consume the block whist supercharging your tools for a small duration of time. All supercharged nether tools will have fire aspect build in.
Supercharged nether pickaxe will mine very fast like a diamond pickaxe and have a benefit of instantly melting anything you mine. For example iron ores will instantly become iron bars (can be enhanced with fortune 3 for more iron drops), cobblestone will become stone, stone will become smooth stone ect.
Supercharged nether axe can turn wood instantly into charcoal
Supercharged nether sword has fire aspect and increased damage
perhaps you can do something with a supercharged nether shovel and soulsand,
Supercharged nether hoe can... turn water into coblestone so that you can work easier underwater? i'm out of ideas for that one. I think this could be a fun alternative, diamond tools will still be better overal however in some situations a supercharged nether tool can be more desireable (for mining iron directly) its balanced because like a furnace it requires fuel in the form of lava/ fire to become decent + it will have a low durablity regardless
