I recently saw that ostriches, meerkats, and palms are actually coming to Minecraft. That got me thinking about how deserts could be even better and I think I've got an idea. I am talking about a block that would be like snow, it would be 1/8 of block high. I don't know how to call it because name sand makes sense, but sand block is already called that.
It would drop an item called sand drop, it would be like a snowball but obviously it would look like sand and would be little more chaotic. It would also be throwable but if you throw it at player's face they will be blind for like 0.25 seconds and monsters like zombies, husks, skeletons, and strays would get stunned.
Sand could be crafted from 4 sand drops like snow. If you put a sand drop in a furnace it would make 1 glass pane.
because in desert there is no snowfall I think it would be great if there was added a sandstorm as suggested here https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360010571651-Sandstorms?input_string=Sandstorm that would spawn 1/8 high sand on ground.
+ I had this idea with a snowman made from sand called sandman. But there are problems with that idea. First, as I suggested sand drops would make hostile mobs stunned for a while so sandman would be too powerful. And second, because deserts have sand blocks everywhere players would just run around desert, place pumpkins on ground and create sandmans.
