Friends feature in java

I think it would be a great idea to add friends instead of having to do a whole bunch of messing around with files and copy and pasting.

    same here I think in the launcher there should be an option for add friend then you can open the multiplayer tab and join them (If multiplay was enabled) I want it to be like "Bedrock Edition"

    This NEEDS to be in the game! I only got the java edition of minecraft to play with a friend who has java and not bedrock. Not everyone is able to create a server or wants to have to PAY for multiplayer.

    We need to be able to just friend somebody then whatever server they're in appears in multiplayer

    i want java features on bedrock cuz i think java players get treated better than bedrock players

    The multiplayer feature on java for me is just too much.I don't want to do servers or anything I just want to join my friends world just like they do on bedrock, like this is the best thing I love about Bedrock because you don't have to all the IP crap instead all you have to do is add your friend and then you can just hop into their world fast and easy.This feature would just make life for people like me soo much better and easier.
