Chain mail should have a special function

If we are going to be realistic, almost no one uses chain mail armor. Most people don’t look for it because 1: It can’t be crafted and 2: It’s much easier to get iron armor instead. Now alternatively to giving chain mail a crafting recipe, I thought, why not give people a reason to look for it?

Now I thought abou this for a little while and came across an actual historical fact. The fact was that back in the thirteenth century, chain mail was especially effective at deflecting arrows. And that’s where I got the idea: why not give chain mail the special function of giving the player arrow resistance?

I believe because of the village & pillage update that this function will be useful, because it will give knowledgeable players a unique advantage when defending a village or raiding a pillager outpost? Thanks for reading!
