Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Smooth Netherrack, or a Furnaced version of it

It would be pretty cool to break down netherrack in a furnace like other blocks in Minecraft. Such as smooth stone. I feel this is needed because the nether has very very little variety to it. All it really has is netherrack and nether brick which is it. Would love to implement this idea to give netherrack a nicer use instead of being treated as a trash block to build ones self up.
