Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Different item variants/skins (sold by villagers)

An easy way to add variety in the game would be to adding more rare and exclusive items. While ones could be found in new dungeons and dropped by mobs, others could be found in villages. Villagers would craft new and existing items with different skins (stats, effects...)

Swords and other tools would have a different shape or style, new watches, more custom banners, special dishes, different armour (with embedded emeralds?, makes villager proud), uniquely carved and decorated blocks and similar

    It would also be cool if they added in different races of villagers since there isn't much diversity at the moment.
