(Accessibility) PS4 Captioning/Subtitles

Hello! I think Minecraft could increase its accessibility and potentially make the game more enjoyable for peaceful players with the addition to subtitles on the ps4 platform. I am a a player with an auditory processing disorder, and I need to use at least two of my senses together before I can process things that I hear. This usually means volume up, subtitles on, and then I can process things. Otherwise, I can’t actually understand what’s happening. Along with that I also have some hearing loss so it’s just difficult in general for me to hear things. This has lead to my disadvantage a LOT in the game. I’ve been blown up, I’ve missed important noises, I can’t tell when mobs have spawned, I can’t hear the gurgle of water, I can’t hear the scream of a ghast, etc. I just really hope that this can be developed in the ps4 version next, and hopefully, all minecraft versions. Minecraft is an exciting, liberating, expansive game for disabled people and increasing accessibility would be appreciated by the community.

    I agree completely! I miss this feature from when I played Java. Even as someone who has good hearing, sometimes I miss things and sometimes I'm playing when people are sleeping. Having subtitles would be really helpful.

    This would be so great. The more accessibility options, the better.

    I have friends who are deaf/hard of hearing and they often have trouble with creepers sneaking up on them, subtitles would help out a lot.

    All of bedrock need this accessibility feature.

    Anything decided on PS4 should be a decision for all of Bedrock. 

     

    I have the same needs as the original poster (volume up, subtitles on) to really process what is going on in the world around me.
