make content more interconnected

for example the woodland mansion
sometimes they spawn with fake end portals
which would imply that the illagers or smth have a connection to the end
and the illagers look different from the villagers
and killing some of them can even give you an effect called "bad omen" which can lead into village raids
but none of these things are really connected to one another outside "wow that's odd" and being done with it

but if you were to make the content updates interconnected with one another and the existing game and such, you could make the illagers the end counterparts of villagers, the stronghold being where they were exiled from the end, and they started looking for ways to get back, such as attempting to recreate the end portal
maybe make it so the fake end portals could summon endermen to make eyes of ender for the actual end portal
the reason they have totems of undying could be so they could live long enough to get back home
maybe they were bitter at their overworld counterparts for being able to stay in their own dimension so they attack them when they see them
you could raid a pillager outpost and find eyes of ender as rare loot, or maybe a map of a stronghold with the end portal marked
