Essentially, There will be a powerful ore at the bottom of the nether. I don't know what it should be called but for right now I have came up with "Black Diamond"
It occurs at the bottom of the nether, so between y=16 and y=0, so it is hard to get. It is in veins of 1-8 ore blocks and can be mined with an iron pickaxe and above, with the same break time as diamond. However, it is about as common as lapis lazuli, or at most 10% more common than lapis. The reason is because it is suppose to be more hazardous to get than how long it takes to get it.
Once you obtain Black Diamond, you can craft it into very efficient tools. Pickaxes, Axes, and Shovels will be 20% more efficient than diamond tools, but 5% less durable. For swords, it will be 9 attack damage, but also 5% less durable. Hoes are 5% less durable than diamonds.
For armor, it will be as much defense as diamonds, but 5% less durable.
These stats will make it so the Black Diamond, or whatever other name it might go by, will have the upper hand on only some items, not all items like diamond. Also, it will add more stuff to the nether.
Also, for one last thing, it would be interesting to have kind of like the opposite ore, where it occurs at the very top of the nether.
