I would like to propose a possible magic system for Minecraft.When most people think of a magic system in Minecraft, the think of a new meter, which leads many people to be against it. I absolutely agree. There is no need to add a new mechanic just for this. I would propose that it use what is already there. We already have forms of magic. Enchantments and potions namely. Enchantments use experience, and that should remain in a more active magic system. The basis of the status that you use items called “spell pages”. These pages create an effect, depending on the page, in exchange for experience. You either craft spell pages, through some sort of research table, or find spell pages in chests. A multitude of effects could be used, but nothing absurdly game changing. At most, calling a lightning strike. Most of the effects are much smaller. A mobile light source for example. Or a small fireball. The more powerful the effect, the greater the experience cost. Keep in mind, when I say this, I these are not intended for common use. These things eat through your levels quickly.
