Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Leather can combine with other armor

As it is, diamond armor doesn't look too great. Sure it is satisfying to first make and use, but after a while it becomes bland and unoriginal. You should be able to combine leather and diamond armor into one armor piece, with the defense of diamond armor, but also the ability to be unique and add a flare to your armor. This will also make it easy to distinguish players of different teams or factions. 

Edit: Maybe capes could also be a part of this. It wouldn't take away the rarity of a Minecon cape, because banners would be used, and as we all know, Minecon caps aren't repeatable through banners. There could be a cape slot when you are wearing the hybrid armor.

    BS, I can easily remake the Minecon 2011 cape using a Black Banner with Orange Creeper Charge and Red Base Gradient
