Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Iron grates

These would be crafted by placing 3 iron bars in a crafting table, and doing this would give you 3 iron grates. Iron grates will be the size of a trapdoor, but will not function as one. They will place like a wall normally, but when crouching they will be placed like a floor. They can be placed in any way a trapdoor can.

These would be grate (hah) for building in industrial area or water areas. Of coarse, that's not all.

Water will automatically flow through grates, but when powered by redstone the grates won't let water pass through, and will stop any current water flow. If it is waterlogged redstone will do nothing.

I think a good texture for them would be something simalar to iron bars, but in a grid-type look.

I really hope you all like this suggestion, and if you think something should be changed, please give me feedback.

    I love the idea above if I could expand on it. Also if these grates could be placed under a gate (like on a farm) so the damn animals won’t escape every time you open the gate to get out.

    Now that Minecraft has copper grates, an iron grate that looks like copper grates but with a gray color that matches the color of iron bars or chains would be a great addition for builds where the orange or green color of copper grates doesn't fit with the other colors you're using.
