Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Wood cutter

With this block instead of with the stonecutter where you get stone carved stuff with the wood cutter you can get wood cut stuff and it's crafted just like a stone cutter just with wood blocks and with whatever kind of wood you use you get a different color stonecutter back and with the woodcutter if you place a log on top of it drops planks

    This is badly needed. Like stone, wood has many end uses that get short changed. The stone cutter is a must have item when building large projects in survival mode. It make everything go quicker and it is more fair in its creation from full blocks. Ideally a wood cutter should be able to strip the bark off of full stacks instead of using the axe (or rather many axes).

    Initial thought point to simply the added function for stone cutter to be able to cut wood Second thought, horrible idea. Also, Stone cutter with diamond is just too expensive.

    Stone cutter is made from 1 iron and 3 smooth stone.

    Wood cutter can be made from 1 iron and 3 stone or 1 smooth stone + 2 wooden planks.

    New villager profession? not too sure.

    this is an amazing idea considering that with 9 planks you get 4 stairs, with this wood cutter we could save so much time

    It just makes sense to add. Feels weird only having the stonecutter.

    Also I think the default door recipe should only give 1 door again (or 2), and it would only give 3 when you use the woodcutter.

    This would go perfectly with a new type of villager too. Having a lumberjack to trade different wood types seem perfect with the wood theme.

    i saw a comment saying using a diamond but if they do that you will have to progress more in the game to not get scammed by wood then to not be scammed by stone i say just keep the iron the same not to hard to get but you have to try give it 1% of effort if you ok at the game

    Well 6 years later here we are still no wood cutter. I was about to make a post for this and then I saw this one. I've read all the comments and I think the best way to go about implementing this in the game would be:

    1. The Recipe --- Since the stone cutter uses stone and iron the woodcutter should use logs and iron

    2. Functionality --- It wood ;) work the same as the stone cutter and should be able to craft all possible wood based blocks from planks even doors and trapdoors (which would be crafted one at a time instead of 3 doors)  and would use two wood planks.

    3. Special Function --- The wood cutter allows us to now make stairs, slabs, shelves, and wooden walls with both stripped and regular logs by placing in a log instead of wood plank to be cut.

    Please add this finally Mojang after 6 years of asking. Thankyou

    Builders would benefit a lot from this, especially when working on big structures in survival worlds.
