The I dont realy get how the enchantment table can grant me a pick axe with efficiency 4, unbreaking and fortune 3, about once every 3 pick enchanted with a 30 level stacked up, and only using 3 enchanted level but then if I wan to repair it i lose 30 lvls
What I suggest is keeping the random enchantment selection going ,removing the number of changes a Item can have, removing the need for a library and making it 1 lapiz 1-level per enchantment.
keeping the 3 slot of enchantment would give some level of selection to the player
in exchange, the level of the enchantments should be low, let say never over half the highest level of that enchantment, and the chance of getting a second enchantment should be low, you could keep the Library mechanic by making it that the library can increase the chance of a secondary enchantment or curse
With the low cost per enchantment and the removal of the limit of changes per item, this will allow the player to combine book to achieve the highest level, allowing enchantments from previous tools to be transfer to a new one by destruction would also allow the player to pass along previously gained enchantment level allowing for the player to start enjoying enchantments much early on but maintaining a sense of progression
