The Nether hasn't gotten any particularly interesting mobs (or any particularly interesting additions for that matter) since Beta 1.9. That's far too long of a time for the Nether to not have any attention. So, I propose 3 mobs separated across multiple posts - because rules - that could be added alongside other peoples' Nether-related suggestions to make the Nether less boring.
The Gaze would float around slowly and randomly, remaining in the area it spawned. They would have a 2% chance to replace Blazes that don't come from a Monster Spawner. They appear as a completely unsaturated inverted-color eyeball with a dilated vertical pupil, surrounded by a large cloud of smoke. Gazes become hostile like Endermen, attacking if the player's cursor is directly over them. When this happens, its pupil will constrict and it will begin charging at whoever looked at it. As the Gaze charges, its velocity won't be restricted, which can result in it losing control if the targeted player moves out of its trajectory. Should the Gaze collide with a player, it will deal initial damage based on its velocity, which difficulty will scale by x1, x1.5, and x2 correspondingly. The damage will inflict the Wither status effect for 30 seconds. After damaging the player, the Gaze will then teleport to its initial spawn point and reset. Upon death, it will drop 1 Wither Rose and 0 to 2 Coal, but is guaranteed to leave behind a lingering Wither cloud that the effect of lasts for 5 seconds.
