I think that it is kind of sad that in Minecraft, you get to diamond, and there is nothing better. You just hoard diamonds and conquer every possible realm, and then Minecraft just becomes boring. What I am proposing is a new type of armor/tool/realm. Take redstone and smelt it (which takes 9 coal/one coal block), this would result in a redstone lump. If you take 2 redstone lumps and put them side by side in a crafting table, you would get a redstone ingot. If you smelt an iron ingot (this also requires 9 coal or equivalent), it becomes a steel ingot. One steel ingot surrounded by redstone ingots would form a redsteel ingot. After that, it would be the regular crafting for chest plates, swords, etc. This would be a tool more durable than diamond, but as quick, and receptive to enchantments as gold. It would give off a faint glow, similar to a redstone torch. (even the armor and tools would glow) The armor would be given the toughness of diamond armor, but give off random buffs like strength or instant healing or regeneration every now and then. These new tools could also unlock a new dimension, because of their ability to mine bedrock. This could have lots of ores and maybe a portal to a new dimension, although you would have to expand the bedrock layer to more than the current average of 5 blocks. These tools would NOT be accessible in creative or through cheats.
