(Food) Cactus Slice/Steak

Why?

Cactus is one of the least used blocks/items in the game. There used to be a time when players would make walls of cactus to defend their base, but that was a long time ago. I'm talking back to 2010, and so I believe that cactus is in need of improvement to make it compete more with other blocks and items.

When spawning in a desert, gathering food resources can be very hard. Now, you could always travel to a nearby biome to gather some food, but why should you have to do that?

As stated earlier, cactus as it is (so far) is very useless, and making it a source of food for those spawning or living in deserts would be a nice addition. I think this would be fair, and it's also something that would feel a bit unique, as well as adding more reason to explore the deserts and use/farm cactus.

How?

Putting 1 piece of cactus in the crafting table could give you 1 or 2 cactus slices, which would regenerate as much hunger as a melon slice, but if you then take a cactus slice in the furnace/smoker and cook it, it would turn into a cactus steak, which would regenerate as much hunger as a normal steak/porkchop.

Far to easy to farm in my opinion you can just place a block next to where it will grow next too easy to afk farm in my opinion instead have the cactus produce fruit like the sweet berries and maybe give them 1/2 for picking them off the cactus
