    Already possible, although very tedious. A gamerule for singleplayer would be helpful. :)

    Run your map on a dedicated server with command blocks disabled in server.properties.

    If you're playing in older versions of Minecraft, mainly up to Java Edition 1.12, you could use MCEdit to get rid of the offending command block.

    I agree with your idea, though perhaps the gamerule should be named something like disableCommandBlocks

    If you are playing on the Minecraft that is the Better Together Update (cross platform between different devices), then you can pause the game and scroll down to the bottom of the setting game menu and you can disable command blocks.

    Perhaps for internal consistency, call it /gamerule disableCommandBlocks

    i hate this so much i had a year old world but i made a mistake with a command block and it just had to be deleted

    I have run into this Problem So many Times and It is always a pain to spend half an hour trying to retrieve a world all because you typed @a instead of @s. Please Add this To Java!!

    Just do /gamerule commandblocksenabled false then go and break the command block. And then turn commands back on again.
