When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

Shears + Dispenser should work on vines

Well, that's it.
If we can create automatic wool farms, why not vines too?

    In general, is there any reason that dispenser + shears shouldn't be able to do anything you can do manually with shears?

    Agreed. I'm sure it has something to do with the dispenser interacting with a wall-mounted object as opposed to a full block or entity with a hotbox, but it should at least be allowed to drop itself if a piston breaks it. It's possible with a ladder, so it's got to be possible with vines.

    Vines destroyed by pistons cannot drop as items, that would mean every vine always drops. You'd collect dozens by accident walking through a jungle.


    But while I'm here: Silk Touch Hoe should work on vines.
