Exterior Window Shutters

I think builds would look cooler and more detailed if we were able to add window 'shutters' to the outside of our buildings.

Trapdoors just don't quite cut it!

We need a block similar in size to the trapdoor (maybe a bit thinner), but that is made up of horizontal 'grills'.

Sort of like the Acacia Trapdoor.

They could come in all six wood varieties.

They could swing horizontally on their hinges, instead of vertically, like trapdoors.

I'm not sure if mobs should be able to see through them or not.

    I would love shutters that could open and close, but how would they work? When a shutter is closed, it's occupying one block, but then when you open it so that it's touching the exterior wall (like in the photo you shared), it would be occupying the next block over.

    Perhaps they couldn't work like that.

    Perhaps they just work like trapdoors, adjustable by 90* within the same space.

    You would have to decide what windows on your build had closed shutters and what ones had open shutters.

    It isn't as though players are going to waste their time opening and closing shutters constantly, it's just for decoration.

    We all want to be able to make things more natural and that's a way to do so...
