Applying ''Envenomed' effect'' to arrows, using crafting recipes

This idea would allow players to envenom their arrows by combining an Arrow in shapeless crafting with either a Poisonous Potato, Spider's Eye or Pufferfish.

Depending on which of the three items you use, determines the potency of the envenomed effect.

1. Poisonous Potato adds "Envenomed I" to your Arrow - Deals 1.5 hearts of damage over 3 seconds.
2. Spider Eye adds "Envenomed II" to your Arrow - Deals 2.5 hearts of damage over 5 seconds and causes nausea to the target for 2 seconds.
3. Adding a pufferfish to your Arrow will apply "Envenomed III" - Deals 3.5 hearts of damage over 7 seconds. Nauseates the target for 3 seconds and applies a 5 second lasting Slow effect.


Envenoming arrows (/spears) is actually a historical hunting method that's been practiced by hunters for a very long time. Envenoming involved using snake venom, toxic plants and even toxic fish to increase the lethality and effectiveness of their tools while animal hunting.

With that being said, I think envenoming arrows in minecraft should be kept nice, simple and humane. And beside that, Poisonous Potatoes and Pufferfish don't really have an use anyway and yet, are quite a hassle to farm up in huge amounds, considering you can only envenom one Arrow at a time. 

This addition would give these items much needed usefulness and add a nice bit of spice to the combat mechanics of the game.
