The idea is simple, a program that can take any resource/texture pack, and then you'd give it a Minecraft version (and platform) to convert it to. Not only would it be able to convert Java versions, but Bedrock too, and any other platform versions that had resource/texture pack functionality that was different from Java and Bedrock. Personally, it would be very helpful to me since I like going back on older versions just to mess around. Anyways, I want to know, is there any possible development already going on for something like this? And if not, what information would I need regarding the changes in resource/texture packs over the years? Additionally, if the case is that no development is going on, if I plan want to program this on my own, what language should I use? (I'm thinking Python or Java because of the cross-platform support, besides separate mobile apps for iOS & Android).
Anyways, thanks for reading this in anycase, I hope this gets addressed across the staff sometime.
