Ability to "claim" workplace blocks

I've wanted to build and decorate with a few of the workplace blocks without impacting the professions of my villagers in the area.  What I would propose would be adding an option to essentially lock the block by setting it as claimed by a villager either through a checkbox in the block's interface or through the use of a tool such as a craftable key either way some indication of it being claimed or not might be nice.  If this were the case one example would be blocks like barrels would now be useful as decorations in a dock area without the likely side effect of creating an excess of fisherman villagers it would make these blocks usable for creative things without impacting our growing villages.
