What is parity? This category is designed just for features that exist but work one way on one platform, and another way on a different platform. Bugs are not parity! Items in snapshots and betas are subject to change so please be sure to only post about things that are currently released in Minecraft. Please read the intro post before you post!

This needs to be added, especially since bedrock is much more multiplayer friendly, having custom maps like this would be a game changer.

This has been my #1 wish for FOUR YEARS. I am terrible at using coordinates to navigate and am constantly getting lost. The cloned map in a picture frame workaround is cumbersome at best. If they are NEVER going to let us mark our maps using banners (like on Java) I wish they would at least let us know why. It seems like an unnecessary inconvenience just to make sure bedrock players know they are second class.

on my realm with a few friends one of us always makes either a 2x2 4/4 map room or a 1/4 4x4 room, depending on how split the bases are. this would make everyone's lives easier.

6 years on and this still hasn't been added to bedrock and I have no idea why. Most of the young kids playing Minecraft are doing it on Bedrock. For the server I set up for some of these kids, I've mapped out the area and placed framed maps to create the marks for them, but they struggle to remember which green mark is which. "I know I built my base at one of these, but I don't know which. Can you help?" is a common question I get. Another kid recently went to the wrong town and ended up 2000 blocks away from where they wanted to be. If we could use banner's like the Java edition would solve this.

Why even have feedback if it's going to be ignored for years? Mapping in Bedrock is infantile compared to Java.

I don't understand why this hasn't been implemented into Bedrock yet. It's been 7 years. It should really be added. Most of us like that little organizing factor it would provide.

Still waiting on this feature after so many years. This is the HIGHEST active parity feature on the feedback page. The first two have been launched, and the third one has been announced in beta. Why is it taking the team so long to get to this feature? :(

It's insane this hasn't been added yet with all the recent focus on parity, this is the top voted feature on the parity section that still hasn't been added so surely should be next to be added but hasn't in the last 2 years. Please add this mojang, I really would like to mark out all the important locations in my map room.

Things like this are such important aspects of parity
Tutorials and clips online of cool features like this, that massively improve immersion and QOL, lead players who don’t necessarily understand Minecraft is basically two different games with the same name to be disappointed and confused as to why its not working

If they want bedrock to be the new main version and they want Minecraft to continue the trajectory of being community driven they really need an update thats just mopping up all these parity issues and QOL features. They could do a similar update to the bee update where they fixed whole swaths of bugs and then added a bit of content to make the update look more fleshed out

I would love Java Style map markers. The immersion in my world would be amazing!

I am creating a city and I would like it so that if I invite friends they do not get lost with the different maps placed in my city, because if you know the place you get lost in the world.

Still no update on this after almost 7 years, this is getting ridiculous, why isn't this in the game already?
If it's a performance problem then limit the number of markers per map, even a 8 marker limit is far better than nothing. If it's a UI problem, then add another button to the UI on mobile when looking at a banner with a map. If it's a programming limitation, then spend the time to add the feature and while you're at it, you could spend the time to add biome grass colours to java maps.
