(Availability) Linux

I recently switched to a Debian Linux distribution and the new Minecraft launcher is not supported, so I either have to us the old launcher or a different program (such as FTB, MultiMC, etc.)

It would be nice if I could use the new Minecraft launcher on Linux instead of the other alternatives.
