Fig trees are something that could add a new layer of depth to the game. Not ibly do thwir roots spread for miles looking for water, but these rootscan easily cut theough solid stone in their search! How cool would it be to find roots (wood) while mining? Follow it up to a rare fig tree to harvest the fruit. Fig trees can be small, almost bushlike, or absolutely huge— big enough to serve as a centerpiece of a town or landscape.
Figs have been featured in cultural lore from Japan to Rome and the tree itself could wven be used as a spawn point for rare mobs or bosses— as banyins can grow to resemble a forest from a distance— all while being one tree.
But i digress. While the tree itself could be fun to see in the world at large, figs themselves are a food I would love to make use of! They can be used to create sweets such as candy or meal bars, and they can also create a savory flavor if you cook the leaves.
Figs are known for helping in fertility sk maybe they would gove a breeding buff after being eaten? Say if you feed fig leaves to a set of mobs they may spawn two rather than one offspring?
