This idea is not for the near future, but for the longer term, when the required mechanics are added, and so is a future idea.
When bookshelves can store books, they will probably be able to store written books. I suggest having a few rare books, that are already written in, and can be found in structures with bookshelves. I would have them be 1 written book per 300 bookshelves, so it would be quite rare.
Here are my suggestions for books:
-The Island and The Crash, by Max Brooks and Tracey Baptiste.
It would only be the first parts, that were released online, in two separate books, so people would still buy the real books. Also I think they should end gradually, as if the books are worn down, and the further you read, the less characters remain undamaged and unaltered.
-The crafting guide. The game already provides a digital copy alongside the crafting table, but I think it would be cool to add a written version in the game. With all recipes unlocked, having it in your inventory, automatically completes the crafting guide in the game.
-The last three would be references to the mobs from the Minecon vote, that weren't implemented. They would have a book each, with details about what it could have been, acting as a kind of mythology.
I think this adds to Minecraft's lore quite well, and adds an interesting occurrence to the game, these 6 books are just suggestions, and feel free to suggest more.
