Making sponges more useful

My idea is that a wet sponge should be similar to a magma block for endermen (and for other mobs vulnerable to water ) This could be used for sorting mobs or just keeping endermen away.

Another thing about wet sponges you there should be a way of using a bucket to collect the water out of a sponge, this could help with water placement giving the sponge more use in building for building water-based structures (rivers, lakes, fountain, etc.) besides just being used to suck up water it has more purposes since the sponge is already a rare item as is and this could make it a more wanted item.
