Nether biome plant variants

When you take a plant (ie. Grass blocks) to a different biome in the overworld it changes color to match the new biome. I feel this should be the case with changing dimensions too. Grass and leaves would die and turn brown. Vines would shrivel and blacken. Sugar cane can't be grown since it requires water. But something I would like to add is a gradual change to logs. A tree growing in the nether and left there for a while will have it's bark take on a burnt look. However, this will become a new type of wood that won't burn anymore. You can turn it into planks of that tree variety and they will also not burn, however they will take less time to mine as they are now more brittle.
