Optimize for Java

Java edition's performance has dropped severely in both 1.13 and 1.14, even with the so-called "lag fixes" in 1.14.2. Servers either have to buy hardware roughly four times more powerful to run the new versions, or put up with severe lag even with just a handful of players.

For the modding community, it's not worth updating any mods (or even Forge IMO) beyond 1.12.2. The engine is just ruined in 1.13 and up. The only reason to update beyond 1.12.2 is for the new vanilla content, and that content comes at a huge cost. It's gotten so bad that it almost seems like some kind of underhanded push toward Bedrock Edition.

I agree, performance optimization is a big issue.

I would really like to be able to play my game with FPS consistently above 30. I know computer hardware is a part of it, but I have an average CPU and good RAM; my FPS should be higher than 13-20.

"unspaghetti the java code" update would really help honestly.

while yes, bedrock edition has less lag and stuff, it is honestly too different from Java for me to switch to it just because it has more FPS. many others would agree this is the case.

Maybe an entire update where not much more content is added, just optimizations to current code because fps in vanilla Minecraft has been steadily falling down the stairs with every content update... Why do I need to rely on Optifine and other performance improving mods just so I can have more than 40 fps?
