The Nether Torched

Similar to the Drowned from 1.13, the Torched would be a new mob to the Nether, originally being fallen adventurers that seeked to destroy the wither. Some may carry the Nether Staff, a powerful weapon similar to the trident, but to throw fire charge instead of throwing the staff.
The Torched would mainly group near a Nether Hive, a new Nether structure on the ceiling of the nether, with it structured as if it was a bee hive with netherrack and glowstone.
The Nether Staff is both melee and ranged, with melee catching players on fire, or with ranged launching fire charge.
Enchantments to this powerful weapon include:
Fireblast- a more explosive reaction on the fire charge when hitting a surface
Pyropunch - a fiery knockback when using a melee attack. This enchantment also has a chance of spawning Wither Skeletons, that you have control of while wielding the staff.
The Torched would be the new opponent for survivalists of minecraft, which you could be one of the first to live it...

    I prefer the idea that the "Torched" should appear in lava pools, like drowned appear in water, but unlike drowned can survive out of the lava (they don't start burning like drowned). Would be freaky to having mobs emerge from lava to set fire to you.
