I am thinking of a dimension where it is similar to the over world, and all the ores are the type of block you use (e.g: coal block portal = all ores are coal) and there would be new mobs that look similar to whatever block you used, and they drop the ore that is in the world, and the ground is a new block that is just like dirt, but is repainted to match the ore colors. And there would be more items to be crafted with another item that has a 1/100 drop rate based on which portal the player took, (or be crafted with 4 of the retrospective blocks) and would let them craft the said items (e.g: 4 coal sticks made with coal blocks instead of wood, and from there, a coal pickaxe which would be better than wood) and iron items crafted with that table, would be named “full iron ‘insert item name here’” and the items and armor would be crafted with the blocks, instead of the raw materials, and would be stronger then the “not full” armor (except for coal armor, it would be the same as chain but black instead) and would have 2x the durability.
