Chiseled Quartz Block Changes

I do a lot of minecraft building, creating some massive structures, and I absolutely love building with quartz. With using it as much as I do, I've noticed that I don't use chiseled quartz quite as much as I would like. Here are two suggestions that I think would be great.

1) Change of pattern. One person already suggested having a chisel tool, or table, to create new patterns, which I think is a great idea for survival mode, but in creative, if there could be a command such as SHIFT + Right Click which changes the pattern, because then you wont manually have to change it in the chisel table (as an example)

2) Add color to it with crafting. I love the patterns on the chiseled quartz, but its quite plain and hard to see in white, so I thought; add color. As an example, if you put a chiseled quartz block in a crafting table and surround it with 4 gold, the pattern will turn into gold lines, or if you surround with lapiz, the patterns turn blue. Then again, if in creative there could be a SHIFT + Left Click that auto switches this color, that would be amazing for us builders. 

This idea has been on my mind for quite a while now, and I really hope it gets added one day. I think you would be doing a big favor to the architecture that can be built by players.
