Dyable Fog Blocks

Its translucent, dyable, and possible for mobs to walk through. However, while walking through this type of block, you move and fall slower, similarly to spider web physics but less extreme. Perhaps you find it replacing air in the roofed forest below the leaves. Maybe you get potion effects when your head is inside these blocks. I imagine a rarer version of the mesa biome with purple water and yellow fog that gives you poison meant to represent a high-salinity area where only extremophiles live. Perhaps these are found in the shape of black wither-giving clouds in the nether. These blocks would be fun to build with and would be a huge improvement upon builders placing stained glass to give a fog effect. Also, you could likely design some minigames around these blocks.

    i would agree though a slower movement could be optional.

    kinda like swamps can be foggy and extra dangerous in the morning.
