If they would only mimic sounds of hostile mobs then how would that make any sense that they wouldn't be able to do that for other mobs?

The Parrots are useful and if you have a problem with their mimicking ability, then just take down your mob volume. That way they can be less irritating to you.

They'd only mimic hostile mobs because they'd know that they're the only ones we want to hear.  Also, turning down the game sound isn't worth it because then you can't here the other beautiful sounds.

That still doesn't make any sense. Parrots making sounds of just hostile mobs just because they know that that's the only sounds that we want to hear still doesn't give enough reasoning of why they should only mimic hostile mobs. They're a living creature and they are free of what they want to do. It's life. We don't give them orders of what they should and shouldn't be mimicking. Also you said in you're post that and I quote, "It happens to be that the mimicking sounds parrots make are REALLY ANNOYING, especially that of zombies." Zombies are a hostile mob. So if you're saying that they should only mimic hostile mobs but Zombies are a hostile mob, how would that make any sense?

I also suggested "...parrots should only mimic hostile mobs and their mimicking noises should be much quieter."

Okay but that still doesn't explain why you want them to mimic only hostile mobs but in your post you said, "It happens to be that the mimicking sounds parrots make are REALLY ANNOYING, especially that of zombies." Zombies are a hostile mob!

I don't agree on making the sounds much quieter because then you may miss out on more important ones when adventuring around at night. Instead, how about we have the parrot only mimick mobs within viewing distance? That way it doesn't mimic anything we can't see or don't have direct access to. This would help when keeping parrots in the safety of our home, that it doesn't end up being our worst mistake ever because it keeps mimicking a random mob that is safe in a super-specific spot or mimic mobs in a nearby mob-farm.

seriously!! in one of my worlds, i really wanted my house to be in a jungle so i went to one. at the same time, i also decided i wanted a pet parrot but i kept getting really creeped out cuz i kept hearing, what i thought to be, baby zombies. it sounded really close so i kept looking around, and nothing. i ended up deleting that world cuz it made me go so delirious trying to find the "zombie" that i got killed by a creeper. i ended up figuring out that it was, indeed, the birds making the sounds after i made a new world and spawned in the jungle.

Please get rid of this feature, I love having birds around but the mob noises are so annoying I've literally gotten blown up by creepers because I thought it was my bird

Either make the mimic sounds quieter, or better yet, just decrease the frequency of their idle sounds. Even when they aren't imitating things, they make noise constantly. I don't think there's any good reason to remove any aspect of the feature, it just needs to be toned down a little.

ive ended up killing every parrot ive ever tamed in the game, they really are irritating, often making noises of mobs that are no where to be found. i wish there was a way to toggle it bc if my indoor parrot is warning me of a creeper, if it’s actually there it’s too late, if it’s not then it’s a pointless scare.

cant turn down my friendly mob sound bc i want to hear my sheep and my dogs ive had 3 parrots all 3 spammed like 3 mob sounds a moment pretty annoying tbh they're all dead now as if you make the sound of my enemy you are my enemy but yeah id love to see a way to make then stop especially in bedrock where they can spam hostile mob sounds to the point where its not funny or anything just straight annoying imagine the sound of a mob grinder and that entire sound is made by like 3 parrots

as someone who lives fairly close to a mob spawn, i had to put my birds on my roof (very tall) so i could be in my house without hearing mobs. my suggestion would be to just decrease how far they mimic. more specifically on the y cord. i dont care to hear about a mob 20 blocks under me
