Blocks retaining damage

blocks would retain their damage even after you stopped mining. For example, a obsidian block that you mined halfway but then stopped to defend against a skeleton when you came back it would still be 50% damaged. Also this would make pvp better as you could be breaking into a house and then get attacked and killed when your teamatte finishes the job and breaks in

    You are asking for one of Minecraft's oldest mechanics to change, which is asking a lot. However, your reason is basically that you're annoyed that a skeleton interrupted your obsidian farming session. That's just not enough to convince me; I'd rather let the devs focus on more important things.

    It's a good idea and one that will yes take a lot of work but like how you couldnt swim but only float by holding jump. Plus many other mechanics have already been changed also i was going to do this idea but am glad someone did before me.
