PLEASE BE AWARE: This idea is a combination of a list compiled here and the idea that if they would like a themed update they could fall back on this. There's no obligation that it ever be implemented (though it'd be really cool)
This update comes with a travelling circus, with the below occuring. They will always travel to the nearest village, then from there aim to the next one and so on. Attempting to repeat villages as little as possible.
MOBS:
Ring Master (Illager, possibly two different variations)
Clown (Illager, I'd say about four variations)
Lion (probably male and female variations, since mobs are relatively androgynous it's difficult to decide)

Elephant
Tiger
STRUCTURES:
Big Top, this is the biggest structure in the circus, the performances will happen here
Smaller tents, these essentially act like houses for the clowns
Ringmaster's Tent, his is bigger and fancier than the clowns cause he thinks he's special

Cages, simply put the animals are put here, these are on wheels since it's a traveling circus.
MECHANICS:
-If raiders attack them directly, the circus is armed and dangerous, being a force to be reckoned with. They aren't villagers after-all.
-If the ring master is killed, a clown will take their place and keep the thing going once the threat is eliminated.
-There are 4-6 clowns to a cart with a maximum of three carts in a troupe. There are 1-3 carts with a mix of which animals appear in it.
-They camp out at night if not near a village, if the player attempts to interact with them during this time, some of the clowns will attempt to push them back 10-14 blocks until the player stops trying to near them but will not purposely injure the player. During night they will mingle around several campfires ranging from 1-7 depending on the size of the troupe.
-Circuses that are set up at a village will stay there after opening for 7 days and then pack up and leave. This time does not begin until after the set-up phase. During the set-up phase they will put up the tents over a period of 3 days.
-If raiders attack a village but not the circus, the circus will defend itself while the non-defenders attempt to pack up, once this is done they will leave. That being said, circuses will still go to pillaged villages if they did not leave it to begin with.
-Circuses may attempt to pick up other wild animals for their acts, they will increase in size of illager troupes if too many animals are present.
-Tents and carts are made of wool, this makes them flammable, burning them will cause the circus to:
a) Attack the player until they are dead until the player either enters a different biome or are all killed by the player.
b) Will alert other troupes to the player's antics, this means that these other troupes will prevent the player entering the show and will hurt the player if they attempt too many times or if the player is caught during the show time.
c) Will attack on sight if they see the player again.
This is all that I have for this but this is all conceptual, so IF IT IS implemented there would likely be changes based on how the devs react to the mechanics and ideas and decide to add, take out, or change them.
