Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Was thinking this is a perfect idea considering the new villagers added in 1.14. Add a builder class villager and the architecture block to make a builder the same way a fisherman or armourer get created when they find a barrel or blast furnace. I'm guessing this is inspired by the structure block that map makers have available to them.

I'd image having the item (blueprint) that when placed down creates a construction site (marked with a sign on the ground) based on the blueprint. This construction site will have a visible bounding box based on the width and height of the saved structure. If the bounding box intersects with any block, construction will be halted. The player has to basically make a clear construction site for the builder to keep working. Id also imagine that the builder will go near the construction site (probably just outside the bounding box) and blocks will get filled in periodically. The builder could be leveled up like other villagers and the higher the level the faster they build.

    Sounds good.

Another idea could be to introduce the hammer as a new tool: from the architecture table you can see which materials (and how many) are required for the structure you want to build; by going to the site with the hammer and materials you can simply hit a single block of the new structure for it to be built; the idea is that a diamond hammer can build faster than a rock hammer. (also a builder (villager)  at master level could build faster than a builder at apprendice level)

Another idea is to add a map to the architecture table GUI and with that select the area where to build the building, or just where you can see where new buildings will be built (the idea of Alberto Olivia of costruction site is also good).

I found very interesting the idea of implementing it as a job for villagers.

We should have the ability to create a blueprint in creative mode.  This could work in several ways.

Lay the makers for a building design to determine the dimensions and resources needed to reproduce that structure.  Blueprints could cost XP to use, depending on the size and quality of resources used to make a structure. Blueprints could only be used if the player had the resources in inventory or in a nearby chest. This could help save time rebuilding the same structure multiple times, and allow for creative players to show off their creations.  Blueprints could then be added similarly to skins, and be made available for purchase through the store.

Blueprints should list the materials used in construction and how much flat area is required to build the structure. Blueprints would be for the construction blocks only and not include torches, beds, construction tables, etc.
