Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Potion Dipped Swords

Here's an idea, what if you could coat your sword in a potion. It would only be temporary and would only last as long as the potion would if you used it on yourself, or even for a certain amount of strikes. To dip a weapon you would need to pour a potion in a cauldron, and then click on the cauldron while holding a sword. Then whatever you hit with the sword inherits that status effect. If a gold gold sword is dipped in a potion, the duration of the potion effect will last much longer on the sword and any enemies that might be hit.

    ...or it lasts for only a few hits, based on the sword material? I agree. That would make preparing for important fights much more interesting.

    I did think about that idea before I like it and the potion effects could have a smaller time limit.

    I knew someone had to have posted this already! I love this idea, especially with some of the potion ideas I've seen suggested on here. Someone suggested a leeching potion (go check that out too, it's pretty cool) and I think this would go great with that. Although, I wonder... it takes three potions to fill a cauldron. Would dipping your sword only take up one potion, thus meaning you could dip your sword three times before having to refill? Or would it use all three at once?
