What: Giant Sand Worms. 4 or 5 blocks radius and 8 to 12 blocks long. Found in Desert Biome. No attacks. Moves faster when hit. Higher health. Drops ore, diamond, emerald, coal, red stone, lapis, gold block, iron block and/maybe treasure chest with loot.
Why: Sand Worms spawn in sand biome's between 5 and 40 height. Once spawned, worms slowly travel through all blocks leaving a path behind it like a hole. Worms move very slowly until damaged and will then speed up and change directions quickly trying to escape.
Extra: Worms are reddish in color. Are very rare. Drop 10 to 30 items when killed. Have chance to drop a chest with Wormwood Armor. Armor is immune to Dragons Breath Attack, Fire and Lava. It can not be repaired. Armor dropped can be one of 5 pieces including shield.
The Fun: Sandworms drop lots of loot when killed. Because of the tunnel that a sandworm creates, they are very hard to kill when around lava or caverns. Sandworms travel through water and lava like a solid but will not remove the water or lava blocks. Sandworms would create a new challenge it mob fighting and treasure hunting. The hole that is created would have new water and lava flows as well as drop offs to the abyss below.
