Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Lecterns & Enchantment Books

Lecterns should also be used to combine enchantment books, with an added bonus for doing it that way than in an anvil.

Perhaps putting one enchanted book on a lectern and then clicking it with another enchanted book should combine them at the cost of XP (stronger enchantments higher cost) this would provide another use for the lectern and perhaps it could also provide a quick redstone pulse when doing so if connected to a comparator, the strength depending on the level of the enchantment book?

You could keep the combining of enchantment book function with the anvil too but with the lecterns added bonus of providing a redstone pulse it could be considered an upgrade of sorts for the redstone loving enchanters.

    In addition I would suggest that putting in a 'combined' enchanted book and a blank book could split them again (with the cost of some XP)

    And it should be the only way to do so, because concept of enchanting with the anvil makes no sense.
