Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Smooth Glowstone

Allow us to smelt glowstone in a furnace to make smooth glowstone that has a nice flat texture similar to sea lanterns.

A complaint I hear a LOT is that glowstone is fairly unpalatable. many builders tend to try and hide it behind other blocks or generally keep it out of sight. I think that, aside from simply fixing the texture, we should also have more choices of lighting blocks that have a variety of looks. so smooth glowstone would be a nice addition!

    That would be really interesting! Would the “smooth glowstone” be more crystal-like, or more flat? Further, would there be variations on sea-lanterns as well? I think it could also be cool to craft light source blocks (glowstone, torches, sea lanterns, end-rods) with something like iron or wood to make different kinds of lanterns. I know they just added the lantern, but what if there were different kinds for the Nether and End Dimension?
